UPPER COLFAX ROOT 40 MUSICFEST
APRIL 21-27, 2014
7 Days of Music and the Business of Making Music
The Upper Colfax Root 40 Music Fest takes place April 21 – 27, 2014. The music festival is a celebration of the Colfax music legacy. In partnership with KBCO and 9News, this 7-day music event is designed to entertain, educate, cultivate and enrich Colorado's music and performance community.
Along historic US Route 40, the 2014 Upper Colfax Root 40 MusicFest will be held in music venues, stages, bars, restaurants and shops along East Colfax Avenue and will feature established and up and coming musical acts.
Upper Colfax is the epicenter of Denver’s live music scene with more than 40 bars, restaurants and concert venues offering regularly scheduled live music. Anchored by the historic Fillmore Auditorium and Ogden Theatre, you will find the best of national and local musical acts.
Produced by the Upper Colfax Community Foundation, in partnership with the University of Colorado Denver College of Arts & Media (CAM) and 9Cares Colorado Shares, the Root 40 MusicFest kicks off April 21, 2014, with a launch and networking party open to the public on Monday evening at the Sie Film Center. A few of the topics covered will include: the business of making music, marketing and PR, social media, and the power of networking. Our goal is to include the local musician, small business owner, and young professional in these conversations. More topics will be added as we get closer to the event and look for special guests TBA.
The week will continue with networking events geared toward young professionals, small business owners, and local musicians along with live music performances for the public to enjoy. Lots more details will be announced later this month.
Be on the lookout for the Outdoor Pop-Up Concert on Saturday, April 26 at Argonaut Wine & Liquor and the Music/Small Business Industry EXPO featuring national and local music industry experts, vendors, and resources at the Fillmore Auditorium on Sunday, April 27 to wrap up this amazing week-long series of events.
