I heard a story about a police officer from another state who came to Denver for
extra training. As the story goes, the first
thing he wanted to do was to go see the infamous Colfax Ave.
Not the Denver Mint, or any of it's other attractions, but instead...
Colfax! As he explained it, it was all the South Park references that
got him so curious. . .
In
the ninth season episode "Bloody Mary," one of Randy Marsh's Alcoholics
Anonymous classmates exclaims "No more blowing guys on Colfax Avenue for a
pint of vodka for this cowboy!"
The "Casa Bonita" episode of South Park features a visit to
Casa Bonita, a Mexican-themed restaurant and entertainment complex
located on West Colfax in Northeast Lakewood.
In the South Park
episode "My Future Self n' Me", a secretive business is shown to be
located at 3451 Colfax Avenue; although this address seems to be
featured prominently in the episode, in reality, nothing unusual appears
to be at that address on either West or East Colfax.
In the
"Erection Day" episode of South Park, Jimmy tries to buy a hooker at
Colfax Point, a reference to sections of the avenue noted for prostitution.

Awesome... I live in Lakewood, CO. Love Southpark... it's all real... ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe Hennepin County city with same or similar Colfax AV N is Minneapolis not Brooklyn Center which are both Mpls suburbs.
DeleteDon't rule out our MN Colfax Av in Anoka County😛 which address places right next to Sunny Acres Park. The placement name of Colfax in Anoka Co. is actually a mistake or violation of the agreement between Anoka and neighbors to the south Hennepin County as Colfax was a dedicated N-S street for only Hennepin Co. use. I feel sorry for the residences for both Anoka and Brooklyn Center as in theory there are two mail addresses with same # 'Colfax Av less than 15 miles apart.
