Sprouts Farmers Market on East Colfax now has an official opening day of July 10 the company announced. The 25,000 square-foot store between Garfield and Monroe streets,
just west of Colorado Boulevard, will be the third Sprouts in Denver.
The store will serve as a key anchor of revitalization in an area in
need of a grocery store.
“The neighborhood has grown so much with livability but the fact you
can’t get grocery stores in reasonable distance is a real gap. This
takes the place and makes it a real solid neighborhood,” said Sean
Mandel with Rosen Properties. The Rosen family – in partnership with the
Evergreen Development Company – owns the property occupied by Sprouts.
Mandel added that based on when construction began, the store is
opening ahead of schedule. He credited Sprouts for working hard to get
the store open.
The store will open at 7 a.m. on July 10. Amenities of the store
include a soup/olive bar and sushi bar as well as Sprouts bulk items.
Approximately 100 people have been hired to work at the store.
“We’re excited to be part of the Colfax neighborhood,” Sprouts
President and CEO Doug Sanders said in a press release. “We’ve become
part of metro Denver, and are looking forward to meeting our new
neighbors and becoming part of this community.”
Opening day festivities include free coffee and muffins for those in
line between 5 and 6:30 a.m., a ribbon cutting at 7 a.m. and a grocery
bag giveaway to the first 200 shoppers.
