Oscar Meyer Weinermobile |
The Oscar Mayer Weinermobile will be rolling down Colfax Avenue
this Sunday, April 14, to the Park House Tavern for a birthday party, no less -- and to raise
awareness for Colorado's 22q Clinic. The public is welcome to stop by and have a look at the iconic
symbol that will be rollin' down the 'Fax.
22q -- short for 22q11.2
deletion syndrome -- is a genetic disorder in which a small piece of the
22nd chromosome is missing. It is believed to affect as many as 1:2000
kids. The deletion can cause a wide array of problems, a few of which
are heart defects, respiratory problems, immune deficiencies, and major
learning differences. Every system of the body can be affected by the
deletion.
Stop by Park House Tavern, Madison and
Colfax, between 3:00 - 5:00 PM and check out the iconic Weinermobile up
close. And learn more about how professionals from Childrens Hospital
Colorado and National Jewish Hospital are working together to help kids
with 22q deletion syndrome.
