Colfax Cruise 2012 has been cancelled

The Colfax Avenue Cruise 2012 has been cancelled this year due to several factors, including a need for more sponsors. ColfaxAvenue.com has received an overwhelming response from people disappointed by this announcement, and realized that the Cruise, the longest in distance of its kind on a one-of-a-kind street, will be sorely missed by lovers of classic cars and good times. Estimates place the turnout of classic automobiles for last year's event at over 5,000 cars!

Colfax Cruise and Poker Run 2012 has been canceled

A change in plans that you should be aware of, we are not hosting the Colfax Cruise this year.  This decision has been made by the board of directors of the Collector Car Council of Colorado.

We have had zero interest in the event from the Colfax Business Associations for the 6th year (actually 8 years if you count the two that we worked to get the event up and running) and we are tried of doing all the work to promote Colfax and get nothing back from the business associations.  We have had support from a few of the businesses on Colfax (such as Havana Auto Parts, NAPA and Lakewood Mazda) but the major business associations and Business Improvement Districts have not given us any help.  The Colfax Cruise brings over 5,000 classic and collector cars and their owners to Colfax and these owners spend money while there (on things such as gasoline and food).  The Havana BID estimates that each car spends at least $15 while at the Havana Cruise. We think this number is low, but does mean at least $75,000 in additional revenue to the Havana Business for this one night. We guess that this is true on Colfax as well.

Also, as you know the council receives a whole bunch of help from both the Front Range Airport and the Havana BID.  This support makes the job of hosting a whole lot less stressful and more profitable.  So we ask for your continued support of these two events.

So, for 2012 the Colfax Cruise and Poker Run is canceled.

CCCC Board of Directors

A new committee has been formed to discuss the possibility of resuming the cruise in 2013. If you are interested in being a part of next year's event, or are in an organization or business willing to look into sponsorship opportunities, please contact us at info(at)colfaxavenue.com.
     Thank you.
