Colfax
Avenue is part of the old Highway 40, which once was the old Lincoln
Highway, the first coast-to-coast highway across the U.S.A.
I refer to Denver as the "East Coast of the West Coast", because when
you are driving west from the east coast, and you
first catch sight of Denver at the edge of the massive Rocky Mountain
range, is when you first get the feeling that California
is just on the other side, and once you cross the mountains it's all
downhill from there.
