DAVA Cuts the Ribbon on New Facility
An enthusiastic crowd gathered to cut the ribbon for the Downtown Aurora Visual Arts’
newly-renovated job training studio space on July 12. Alberto Veronica,
Administrative/Communications Assistant at DAVA is ready to use the big
scissors as Mayor Hogan, DAVA’s Executive Director Susan Jenson, staff,
students and board members, along with community supporters, smile for
the camera. This project, which marks the first phase of a $2.5 million
campaign to renovate DAVA’s entire facility located at 1405 Florence
Street in the Aurora Arts District, was funded by a $225,000 City of Aurora grant. DAVA provides after
school and summertime community-based arts education programs for youth,
ages 3-17.
