Denver Tramway Company workers overturned tram cars during a 1920 strike in front of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at Colfax Avenue and Logan Street. On Colorado Day, August 1st, 1920, Denver Tramway workers went on strike for better pay. On August 5th, rioters overturned five tram cars on Colfax, then went on to cause other damage and vandalism around the city. The National Guard had to be called in to restore order.
