On this date in 1987, U2 played Denver's now-demolished McNichols Arena, just a stone's throw from Colfax Avenue. Seven of the 22 songs in the Rattle and Hum film were recorded that evening in stunning black & white.

I had the pleasure of being at the second night of this concert. The show had been sold out, but the day of the concert several seats opened up on the floor for some reason, and I was able to score a pair of tickets. Took my girlfriend at the time. One of the songs they recorded for the Rattle and Hum album/film was "Pride (In the Name of Love)." Every time I hear that recording I tell my friends that if you listen real carefully, you can hear me singing (along with 20,000 other fans). LOL.
