This picture of Lane's Tavern from 1995 gives some perspective on the size of the sign that now hangs at the Lakewood Heritage Center. Not only is it big, but it's animated -- with neon beer slowly filling up the glass and flowing over the top.

  1. Nessie and Bennie are so missed. RIP. No place like it, in Paris or New York. Platters of 7 oz. COORS. No pitchers, no TV.

  2. Yes. Order a “tray” and it was a dollar. Giant No singing or dancing sign prominently displayed. Went every day after work. Never got the 86 like Deacon.

  3. I was the last employee out the door when Lane's closed in 1995. Wah!
