Colfax History: Friend Furniture Co. 1947

1947 photo of Friend Furniture Co., located at 9605 East Colfax Avenue. Hancock's Pharmacy is on the left and Bookers Five and Dime is on the right.

 The Friend Furniture store on East Colfax after the front was redesigned by architect Richard Crowther. You can see the top corner of the old neon sign on the left. To accommodate the re-design, the neon sign was moved from the Colfax side of the building to the Dallas Street side. (courtesy Save the Signs)

    These are such classic pictures of the Friend furniture store. I hope that they're kept well so that more people can remember what the good old days look like!
