After 25 years of touring, Paramount’s LaserSpectacular has become a cult classic, presenting the music of Pink Floyd, as you have never seen it before. Surrounded by 50,000 watts of concert quality sound, Pink Floyd’s musical legacy continues as the band’s concept music captures the imagination and carries listeners away on a mind-expanding journey driven by cutting-edge effects. Colorful lasers and lighting effects parallel the sonic journey as the senses are confronted with an array of glowing visual displays choreographed to the soundtrack during the 2-hour-and-20-minute show.

This year’s show celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Dark Side of the Moon. The show also features the cult classic synchronization of Dark Side with the Wizard of Oz, better known as “Dark Side of the Rainbow”.

Ignite Theatre presents "Avenue Q" Puppet Musical

Book by Jeff Whitty; Music & Lyrics by Robert Lopez & Jeff Marx
Directed by Bernie Cardell
Music Direction by Trent Hines
Choreographed by Kelly Van Oosbree

"Avenue Q" is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet sexpert), Lucy the Slut (need we say more?) and other colorful types who help Princeton finally discover his purpose in life!

Ignite Theatre presents the hilarious "Avenue Q" opening on Friday, October 4 and running through Sunday, November 3 at the Aurora Fox Theatre, 9900 East Colfax Avenue in Aurora. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. with additional shows on Thursday, October 24 and 31 Tickets are $28 Adult, $20 Student, $24 Group (6+). Call 720-362-2697 or online at www.ignitetheatre.com

Director Bernie Cardell returns with the original award-winning 2011 Denver cast Keith Rabin (Princeton), Carolyn Lohr (Kate/Lucy the Slut), Patrick Brownson (Trekki Monster), Mark Shonsey (Nicky), Steffan Scrogan (Rod), Arlene Rapal (Christmas Eve), Eric Fry (Brian), Anna High (Gary Coleman), Paul Jaquith (Bad Idea Bear/Puppeteer), and Leslie Randall Chapman (Bad Idea Bear/Mrs. Thistletwat/Puppeteer).

"Avenue Q" is an autobiographical and biographical coming-of-age parable, addressing and satirizing the issues and anxieties associated with entering adulthood. The characters lament that, as children, they were assured that they were “special” and “could do anything;” but, as adults, they have discovered to their surprise and dismay that in the real world, their options are limited. They also discover that they are no more “special” than anyone else. This musical is notable for the use of puppets (Sesame Street-style), who are animated and voiced by actor/puppeteers who are present, unconcealed onstage, but remain “invisible” relative to the storyline.

"Avenue Q" won the 2004 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score with innovative and originals songs like "It Sucks to Be Me," "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist," "The Internet is for Porn" and "What Do You Do With a B.A. in English?"

Happy Birthday Chris Daniels!

I recently posted that local guitar hero Chris Daniels had lost his guitar and some microphones somewhere on Colfax Avenue, and I am pleased to report that today, which coincidentally is also his birthday, everything was found and returned to him!! That's the way the world should work now isn't it?

From Chris Daniels' Facebook Page:

"Hey All, I know there are days when we think the planet is spinning the wrong way but I'm a believer in people. Today I got a big dose of kindness. I great person found my guitar and mic box where it had fallen out of the band equipment truck (I did not know the door had come open until I got home after a gig). They contacted dear friend and all around funniest guy on the planet Matt Need who called me because he saw my post on Facebook.!!!! Matt you are the best and I will see you tonight to thank aforementioned wonderful person and see if it is OK if I thank him publicly on Facebook for his kindness and for getting in touch with Matt !!! Thanks to all for the birthday wishes and the kind words about the gear -- and to Matt for putting 2 & 2 together and calling me. Love your bum dude!! Bug hugs CD"

Happy Birthday, Chris, from all of us!!
