  1. My wife remembers the Denver Drumstick, and I remember Pea Soup Anderson's in Buellton, California. Both had model trains going choo-choo around the dining room on shelves below the ceiling. We would be watching the trains and Mom would be saying, "your food is getting cold!" The good old days before fast food joints on every corner. Bring 'em back!

  2. Lucky me! I made it to the S. Santa Fe (our regular one), W. Colfax and N. Federal stores before they sadly drifted away from the landscape. It was the first time I had ever eaten chicken THAT crispy delicious with Texas toast. But like others, we didn't know what that yellow liquid mass in a cup was until we started dunking the chicken and toast in it. Those trains above even ran into the Take Out area of the restaurant. I had heard the "Wishbone" restaurant got the Drumstick recipes but theirs never seems to taste as crisp as I remember the DD's. Loved it. Miss it.
