1959 Rush to the Rockies was Colorado's territorial centennial. Big celebration, men grew beards, and the original log cabin territorial capitol building was placed across Colfax Avenue from the state capitol at Civic Center Park.

Apple Tree Shanty Girls

The Apple Tree Shanty was once located at 8710 E. Colfax Avenue. Customers would be served by the Apple Tree Folks: young women dressed in authentic Dutch garb.
