Before the Satire, there was Sugie's Lounge
Sammy "Sugie" Sugarman, an ex-Football Player, renamed his bar
from Sugie's Lounge to The Satire in 1960 and hired the Smothers
Brothers (who rented the apartment above the lounge) to entertain.
