Beat Generation Ground Zero
If
Neal Cassady hadn't met Hal Chase at the old Denver Public Library on
Colfax Avenue (today it's the McNichols Building), the entire Beat Generation wouldn't have happened. Hal
later introduced Neal to Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg while he was
attending Columbia University.
We hereby recognize Capitol Hill Books as the official
Ground Zero Bookstore for the Beats worldwide, as it is a very short
walk from the spot where it all went down. Check out their amazing
section of Beat literature!
