The Who on Colfax Avenue, 1970
That time The Who played on Colfax Avenue at Mammoth Gardens in 1970. The band considers this to be one of the best shows they ever played!
I was at one of the 2 Who shows at Mammoth in summer of 1970. It had to be 90+ degrees inside. They DID play what everyone, including me thinks was one of their best shows ever. Complete "Tommy" from start-to-finish, plus some other great rockers. They killed. Fey brought some great shows into Mammoth. Jethro Tull, Joe Cocker with Mad Dogs & Englishmen, Grateful Dead, Johnny Winter And (w Rick Derringer) ... etc. I got to see most of them.
