Charles McPheeters was a former nightclub entertainer who converted to Christianity in 1965 and, with his wife Judy, became a leader in the emerging Jesus People Movement. From 1972-1975, Charles and Judy McPheeters operated a multi-phased street ministry called The Holy Ghost Repair Service out of The Paraclete Bookstore and the Planet Jerusalem Coffeehouse in Denver, Colorado, later known as the Oasis of Hollywood. They also published a street paper, called The End Times.

Charles McPheeters album entitled “Faces” is considered a Christian music classic. He died of cancer in 1982 at the age of 38. His commitment to take the Gospel to addicts, prostitutes, and street people is a legacy that continues today in the ongoing work of Charles’ widow Judy, and her husband, Ron Radachy at the Oasis of Hollywood.
